All Seeing

You can’t seem to go anywhere without being on some sort of camera. Cell phone videos can be taken anywhere. CCTV cameras aid the police in capturing criminals. Kiss Cams at concerts and sporting events are a part of our life. Ring doorbell cameras monitor a person’s property. We should be careful of what we do because you never know who may be watching you.

Even if somehow, we avoid all the eyes of the world around us, there is Someone else who sees everything, God.  The Bible tells us in Psalm 139:7-12: “Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me. If I say, "surely the darkness shall fall on me," even the night shall be light about me”. God sees even in the darkest corners of our heart. When we try to cover our sins, when no one in the world knows, God sees, even in the dark. What can we do when we are caught on His all-seeing camera? 1 John 1:9 gives us words of encouragement: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”. God tells us why we can have the tape of our sins erased. We have an Advocate with the Father (1 John 2:1). Jesus is our advocate-lawyer who pleads our case before the Father. The blood of Jesus Christ’s death on the cross is the basis of our daily forgiveness.

The Father not only sees our deeds of darkness, but He also sees those hidden acts of kindness that we do when no one else is looking. God desires all His children to walk in the light. Our faith in Christ ensures our relationship with God, and our frequent confession of sin keeps us in fellowship with Him.
