The music group Coldplay were giving a concert in Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts on July 16, 2025.  During one of the songs the “Kiss Cam” caught a popular CEO of a company and a woman that was not his wife embracing.  When they realized they were on camera, they shrunk down in shame.

The apostle John tells us about a day when Jesus will return for His people.  He calls it the day of His appearing.  The second coming of Jesus is an event that is on God’s calendar, and we do not know when it will be.  John tells us in 1 John 2:28, 3:2,3: And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.  Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure”. God has displayed His unbelievable love for us by calling us His children.  He tells us that one day we can’t even imagine the wonderful plans He has for us.  What unimaginable joy that on the day when Christ returns, we will be made like Him, and we will see Him as He is.

The CEO and his girlfriend were caught unprepared to have their private life exposed to the world.  You and I as followers of Jesus do not know when He will return for us.  I wonder if we will be caught before His all-seeing eyes doing things that we would be ashamed of?  Will we lift our eyes in confidence our bow our head in shame?  We should be living in such a way that we will have a bold expectation at His return.  We should be abiding in Him and living a righteous and pure life.  We should not be doing anything that we would be ashamed of when Jesus comes and looks into our eyes.
