Bringing People to Jesus

A faithful believer tried her best to witness to a young man named Bob who worked with her at a factory.  She kept inviting him to church and he kept making excuses.  One excuse he used is that he didn’t have the gas money to get to church.  Later that day the Christian lady put an envelope with a few dollars in it at his workstation.  The envelope read, “gas from God”.  Bob said to her, OK, I’ll come to church with you.  When he came, the gospel was preached and Bob received Christ as his Savior. God changed Bob’s life.  He started a Bible study at work, whistled hymns, and witnessed to co-workers, and later went to Bible College and entered into the ministry.  He also ended up marrying the daughter of the lady who witnessed to him.

Andrew began following Jesus after John the Baptist pointed out that He was the Messiah.  Andrew had a brother, so the first thing he did when he found Jesus, is that he went home and told his brother that we have found the Messiah.  He brought his brother to meet Jesus for himself (John 1:41,42).  His brother also became a follower of Jesus.  Andrew’s brother was named Peter.  Peter became the “Rock” and was a key figure in the early church.

We too can be a witness.  We can invite people to places where the gospel is preached.  We can tell people our story as Andrew told his brother Peter.  Andrew started with his family and so can we.  We should be a faithful witness to our friends and neighbors and with those whom the Lord brings to us.  They may not come, but our duty is to invite them to Jesus and He can do the rest.

There is one other result from the lady who left the envelope at Bob’s workstation.  I happened to be working at the same factory.  I was a believer but out of fellowship with the Lord.  When I saw the change in Bob, it reminded me of my previous joy, it was then I started my journey back to the Lord. Amazing things can happen when we bring people to Jesus.
