God’s All-Seeing Eye

Doorbell cameras are becoming more and more popular.  The technology that is used is able to alert homeowners of people who come into range of the camera.  Some people have been caught on camera trying to burglarize a home.  Porch pirates have been caught in the act.  And of course, the all-seeing camera has caught homeowners slipping and tripping.  That footage is often submitted to Americas Funniest Videos.  The doorbell cameras do, however, bring some concern over privacy and increased surveillance.

You may never want to purchase a doorbell camera.  However, there is an all-seeing eye that is watching all the time.  God sees all, hears all, and knows all about us.  The apostle Peter tells us: “For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the LORD is against those who do evil” (1 Pet. 3:12).  God’s Word encourages us with the truth that He sees us wherever we are.  If we are suffering, He sees.  If we are alone, He sees.  If we are mistreated, forsaken, and in trouble our Lord’s all-seeing eyes are upon us.  He not only sees us, but He also hears us when we call upon Him.  God even sees when His children sin against Him and others.  Since He is a loving Father, He will chasten us.

Wicked King Herod had Peter arrested in Acts 12.  Locked away in prison God saw Peter.  He also heard the church praying for Peter and dispatched an angel to release His servant.  God also saw the wicked actions of King Herod and sent an angel to strike Herod with death.  God’s all-seeing eye is upon those who do evil.  We are surrounded by injustice, cruelty, and wickedness.  Sometimes it seems that people get away and even prosper in their evil ways.  However, every deed of darkness will be brought out into the light under the justice of God’s all-seeing eye.

No matter how deep your pit, and no matter how dark your path.  We can rejoice that our Heavenly Father’s all-seeing eye is upon all His children.

“What If” or “Even If”

Abraham experienced a famine in the land of promise. Without consulting God, he decided that it would be better if he moved his family to Egypt to survive for a while. Perhaps he thought, what if we
